Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is a district level farm science centre sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and is implemented by the ICAR Institutes, Agricultural Universities , selected NGOs and State Deptt. of Agri. of some states of the country for testing and transfer of Agricultural technologies to bridge the gap between production and productivity and to increase self employment opportunities. KVKs primarily work to exert a powerful influence on the other extension system of the district, caters to the training needs of the farmers and extension functionaries, and facilitates the spread of technologies tailored to the diverse environment of farmers. Krishi Vigyan Kendras provide intensive hands on skill and knowledge oriented trainings in multidisciplinary areas like Crop production , Plant protection, Horticulture, Home Science , Agro-Forestry, Extension Education, Animal Husbandry and so on to encourage unemployed farm youth and farmwomen to start their own agro- based enterprise in their locality. The trainings offered in the KVKs follow the principles of “Learning by doing” and “Seeing is believing”.  KVKs also conduct On Farm Trials (OFTs) and Front line Demonstrations (FLDs) to promptly demonstrate the latest technologies in the field of Agriculture and allied disciplines to the farming community and extension workers. The KVKs are known as the light house of knowledge to the farming community of the district. Keeping the importance of KVKs in the country , KVK, Faridabad was established in August, 1992 under the administrative control of CCSHAU, Hisar  at village Bhopani of Faridabad district.
