I.C. College of Home Sciences, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar is organizing Golden Jubilee International Conference on Gender Issues and Socio-Economic Perspectives for Sustainable Rural Development (GIRD-2017) in collaboration with NABARD. CCS HAU, named after India's seventh Prime Minister, Late Ch. Charan Singh, is one of the biggest agricultural university in Asia. This university is a leading institution in agricultural research in India and has significantly contributed to Green and White Revolutions in the 1970s and 80s, respectively. It has a very large campus with several research centres throughout the State. CCS HAU was bestowed with the Best Institute Award by Indian Council of Agricultural Research in 1997 and 2017. University is spread over an area of 7219 acres at Hisar and 1426 acres at outstations. Area at Hisar under farms is 6483 acres and under buildings and roads is 736 acres. I.C. College of Home Sciences aims at enhancing the standard of individuals in general and rural families in particular through teaching, research and extension activities. The college was established in 1973 with a broad objective of catering to the educational needs of girls, besides preparing them for their future roles.
A Centre of Excellence on 'Processing and Value Addition of Pearl Millet for Nutritional Security' has been established in the Department of Foods & Nutrition.
Number of projects are sponsored by various agencies viz. ICAR, UGC, DBT, CSIR, INSA, NIPCCD, DST, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Ministry of Environment, International project (TELFUN) from DBT, New Delhi and INREF, Netherlands.


Promotion of sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural prosperity through effective credit support, related services, institution development and other innovative initiatives.

  • Research and Development on matters of importance pertaining to agriculture, agricultural operations and rural development including the provision of training and research facilities.
  • Consultancy services related to Agriculture &Rural Development through subsidiary (NABCONS).

Provide Credit/Refinance for production credit and investment credit to eligible banks and financing institutions.

  • Development functions undertaken through Farm Sector Promotion Fund (FSPF), Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF), Watershed Development Fund (WDF), Tribal Development Fund (TDF), Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), etc.
  • Supervisory functions in respect of Cooperative Banks and Regional Rural Banks www.nabard.org.
