This institute came into existence as Junior Staff School after bifurcation of the University, though trainings have been started in 1965. In 1973, the school was renamed as Institute of Agricultural Technology, Training and Education and in 2013. It was further renamed as Saina Nehwal Institute of Agricultural Technology, Training and Education. This institute disseminate the latest technical know how through various training programmes to farming community and field extension personnel like officers of State Agriculture Department, Semi – Govt. and co-operative organizations like IFFCO, KRIBHCCO, and probationers/Asst. Commissioners (under training) HCS Probationers (under training) etc.

It has 40 rooms that can accommodate 80 visitors at a time. All rooms are well furnished with double bed, mattresses, study table, dressing table and water cooler etc. In addition to ADT visitors, Farmers’ Hostel also made available to accommodate University visitors, delegates of Seminars/Symposium, Conferences and Social functions of the University employees. Dr. Surender Singh, Asst. Director (Hort.) is Officer In-charge of the hostel.
Kisan Ashram is a comfortable, cheap lodging place for the trainees ( Ladies and gents) and is allocated near Farm Gate at Balsamand road. Boarding facilities is also available for the participants of different trainings if they want to run a Cooperative Mess. A contractor has been hired to cook and serve the food to the visitors. For smooth functioning, Dr. Bhupender Singh, Asst. Director (Ento) has been assigned the duty of Officer In-charge of the ashram.

The monthly training workshop under T & V is the most regular feature since 1978-79. The participants are the DDAs, SDAOs and SMSs from the Department of Agriculture, DHOs and HDOs from the Department of Horticulture, and faculty of KVKs of Hisar zone i.e. Distt. Hisar, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Jind and Siwani Sub Division of Distt. Bhiwani. In this workshop, the feedback from the field functionaries is invited and discussed with the experts of the University.
Zonal Research and Extension Action Committee (ZREAC) Meeting
Two Zonal Research and Extension Action Committee meetings, one for Rabi Crops and another for Kharif crops in the month of August and February, respectively i.e. about a month ahead of the main Agricultural Officers’ Workshop of Hisar zone are organized.
Conduction of Exposure Visit of Farmers
A large number of different types of visitors from all the distant states of the country visit this institute. So SNIATTE holds the responsibility of visits to different farms and scientific spots of the university in addition to its own mandate.
